Albi
Albi is Bear’s half brother and they are 6 months apart in age. In the next few months Albi will start the process into becoming a riding school pony.
Alf
Alf is a firm favourite on the yard. He is privately owned, but loaned to the school three days a week. Alf has been a part of BFFEC for many many years. If you look at our gallery you may see an image of him when he first arrived as a scruffy baby.
Bean
Bean/Beanie is a totally shaggy bear of a pony. He loves his food and will gladly drag you across the yard to get at it. No empty bucket is safe. Our handyman Peter can often be caught sneaking him a ginger biscuit or two.
Bear
Bear is Albi’s half brother and is 6 months older in age. He is currently being backed by our equine coordinator Ellie. He is such a sweetie and will pop his head over the fence for a cuddle.
Bertie
Bertie is our laid back, totally relaxed cutie. Bertie’s canter is like sitting back in your favourite armchair!
Dream
Dream is the biggest horse on the yard standing at 17.1! He is privately owned by Nat’s niece Lauren, but some of you may have the privilege of riding him (if you are tall enough!)
Freddie
Freddie or Fred as he more commonly goes by is a total ginger ninja! He is owned by Sue Brown and loved by our instructor Katie.
Guinness
Guinness has an amazing jump on him and the cutest spotty nose!
Hector
Hector joined us in the Summer of 2023. He is a beautifully marked 4 year old, who is already doing really well in the school.
Harry
Harry is Ellie’s baby. He arrived as a 4 year old baby. Ellie backed Harry and brought him on. She has made him a firm favourite among many of our riders.
Lolly
Lolly (or Dolly as she used to be known) is privately owned but on loan to the school 3 days a week. She is a firm favourite with many of our riders as she is a fun speedy girl who loves to jump!
Lucky
Lucky is the granddad of the yard. He used to be a horse and cart pony, which has given him an interesting head tilt, but this just makes him extra fun to ride. He is enjoying life living with his donkey friends.
Sadly Lucky passed over the rainbow bridge to see his old pal Flitwick in the summer of 2023.
Micky
Micky is a cheeky little man who arrived in the Summer of 2023. Watch this space to find out more about him.
Ozzie
Ozzie is also loved by so many on the yard. He is privately owned but on loan to the school 3 days a week. He is well known for being extremely cheeky, always taking off his own bridle and wandering around the washdown or yard looking for food.
Pepper
Pepper is a rescue pony who is on loan to us. She is a beautiful girl full of personality. She is almost 20 years of age, not that you would know it with her amazing turn of speed and love of jumping.
Spot
Spot arrived in 2021 and has settled in really well. He is a little pickle who isn’t fond of standing to be groomed and swears he is allergic to the hose pipe, but you can’t help but fall in love with that face!
Stanley
Stan is a fluffy boy with a heart of gold, he may be a young boy, but he is an old soul and looks after even our newest of riders.
Wilf
Wilf is Bean’s son. He is a cheeky little devil who was born on the yard at BFFEC.
Winston
Winston, the gentle giant of the yard. He is a big lad with a heart of gold. He will stand for hours being cuddled and groomed. He belongs to Natalie’s niece Emma.
The babies
The babies, Flash and Gilbert are nearly a year old, they are cheeky boys who are enjoying life in the field with Pepper and Spot.
