Flitwick learns to read

Flickwick’s Diary

Hi everybody!

What great weather for a bank holiday weekend. We are keeping all our hooves crossed that it’s going to stay like this so it’s too hot to work hard.

Obviously, you all know how famous I am – but what you didn’t know is that I am actually a muse for published authors. Natalie saw me grazing in the field one day and suddenly she was struck with inspiration for a series of books (all revolving around me, of course), like how JK Rowling started Harry Potter on a train. I was such a vision that day, being handsome in my field, that Natalie started writing immediately. Suddenly, the Hooves were born! The Hooves is a series of children’s book which heavily feature me and some of the other horses, off on adventures to rescue magic horseshoes and missing stars.

There are currently two Hooves books, and I am the lead character in both of them. Natalie had to describe how handsome and good looking I was to the artist who illustrated both books, so he could draw an accurate representation. I think the finished result is pretty lifelike, what do you think? I suppose I should mention at this point that some of the other riding school horses feature in the book, including Pablo, Lucky and LC. The illustrator did a fairly good job of the others too, particularly when drawing Lucky’s moustache – but obviously I look the best of the lot. Some of you may know Diamond who lives in the field near to the indoor school. She managed to sneak in the first book, as her evil alter ego ‘Diamond Diva’ who steals the magic horseshoes.

Now my fame is becoming more and more widespread, I mentioned to Vicki that she should start work as my press officer. It’s going to get more and more difficult to answer all the fan mail I receive, so I might need some help in that department. You never know when someone will call and ask for a guest appearance at a party, or even as a leading character in a film. I am keeping my hooves crossed that this blog gets to Hollywood and that’s going to be the next stage in my career. I think the majority of recent movies would have been better with me in – imagine me as the last jedi in Star Wars, I would have rocked it.

If you’re interested in reading about my adventures, the Hooves books are available to buy in the office and Vicki is working hard to make a display all about me for the classroom. They’re only £5.99 and perfect for children, nieces, nephews or even grand-children.

Until next time,

Flitwick
